PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional hydrophilic member which is highly stain- resistant, preventive from an offensive smell, and sterilizing due to its high hydrophilicity and photocatalytic activities and is also capable of being arranged onto various base materials easily. SOLUTION: The functional hydrophilic member is specified by having a surface prepared by that on at least one side of base material surfaces are introduced ionic groups, and the ionic groups are electrostatistically bonded with photosemiconductive fine particles represented by titanium oxide fine particles which have electric charges capable of bonding with the ionic groups. In the base material introduced ionic groups onto the surface, the ionic groups are preferably introduced by graft polymerization onto the surface forming the graft polymer surface. |
