PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a humidifier that is constituted to reduce the dryness of the skin of the user and itching of the skin caused by dryness by supplying a sufficient quantity of moisture so that the skin may be moistened. SOLUTION: This humidifier is provided with a humidity sensor 2 which detects the humidity in a room, a storing section 7 storing the correlation data between the humidity and time required for moistening the skin of the user, and a control section 8 which controls the humidifier to maintain the humidity in the room at a level at which the skin of the user can be moistened for a prescribed period of time based on the correlation data stored in the storing section 7.
