PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas type determination method for discriminating the type of fuel gas. SOLUTION: Steam is made to mix only with a specific fuel gas. A condensation plate 72 is cooled up to a prescribed temperature below the dew point by a Peltier element 73, and the steam is condensed, if the steam is included in the fuel gas in a condensation case 74. If lead wires 71a, 71b are short- circuited due to the condensate, the electrical resistance value is reduced. Condensation will not occur in with a fuel gas which does not have steam mixed in. The type of the fuel gas is determined from the change in the electrical resistance value.
