PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having excellent arthropod-controlling activities, and further to provide an excellent agent for controlling a harmful arthropod. SOLUTION: This ester is 2,5-dioxo-3-(2-propynyl)imidazolidin-1-ylmethyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-chloro-2-fluorovinyl)cyclopropanecarboxylate represented by general formula (1). The arthropod-controlling agent contains the 2,5-dioxo-3-(2- propynyl)imidazolidin-1-ylmethyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-chloro-2-fluorovinyl) cyclopropanecarboxylate as an active ingredient.
