PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping corrosion detecting method which facilitates a detecting work conveniently regardless of buried pipes or erection pipes, limits the boring frequency for spouting a detecting gas to a minimum, and reduces the investigation time to greatly lighten the investigation labor. SOLUTION: The leak point detecting method comprises a step of filling a pipe under test with a mixed gas containing at least two kinds of gases mutually different in diffusion rate at room temperature, a step of detecting a spout of at least the two kinds of gases diffusing from a leak point on the pipe under test, and a step of locating the leak point on the pipe from the result of the detected spout.
