POROUS CERAMIC COMPACT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous ceramic compact having different porosity in the compact and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing the porous ceramic compact having 3D network composition of ceramic, a composite substrate 23 is obtained by combining 2 kinds of substrates of 23a and 23b which are obtained from 2 kinds of urethane foam sheets of different porosity by cutting. The composite substrate 23 is adhered with slurry on its core material by dipping into the slurry 24 containing alumina powder and is dried, thereafter heated so as to fire the ceramic. Thereby, the porous ceramic compact having different porosity in the compact is realized.
