PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micrometer by which the basic structure and function of a conventional one is still kept and measurement values can be read accurately at an easily measurable position for measuring person regardless of his/her handedness. SOLUTION: A plurality of sets 31a to 31d of main scale indication are provided along the direction of outer circumferential axis of an outer sleeve 30 of a standard micrometer. Thus, a measuring person can obtain accurate measurement values even when observing the measurement values in various directions.
