The motor vehicle transmission has a first section formed from a first gearbox and clutch and a second section with a different gearbox and clutch. A control circuit regulates the first and-or the second transmission sections. A comparator compares the values of a functional characteristic of the first section and those of the second, to derive control signals. Claims include a process for transmission control using the control circuit.
