PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an engine-driven generator capable of generating power without impairing controllability of engine speed. SOLUTION: An electronic control unit 23 sets a reference value of the engine speed gradually changed along with a change of actual engine speed, and it sets an upper limit of generated output so that a desired value of generated output is satisfied and driving torque of the generator 20 to a change of the engine speed is constant in regard to the reference value. The generated output of the generator 20 rotated by an internal combustion engine 10 to generate power is controlled on the basis of the upper limit set in response to the engine speed.
