PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material with adequate weather resistance, which has a varied and complicated uneven pattern, and a peculiar design to a ceramic ware with light weight and large size. SOLUTION: The building material is characterized by arranging a compact of a mixture of granular particles with an average diameter of 0.05 mm or more but 2.00 mm or less, which contain inorganic oxide particles, and a fusible inorganic raw material, on a metal substrate, and then fusion bonding and fixing the above compact on the above metal substrate, by heating the compact at a temperature higher than a softening temperature of the above fusible inorganic raw material but lower than a softening temperature of the above metal substrate.
