PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing 2-butyn-1-ol. SOLUTION: This method for producing 2-butyn-1-ol comprises hydrolyzing 1,3-dichloro-2-butene to obtain 3-chloro-2-buten-1-ol and performing dehydrochlorination to synthesize the 2-butyn-1-ol, wherein the hydrolysis is performed in the presence of a base at 50-100 deg.C using toluene as the solvent and the dehydrochlorination is performed at 100-150 deg.C using a strong alkaline aqueous solution.
