摘要 <p>The invention relates to optical devices which are directed at producing polarised light in a large spectral range and can be used for optical instrument engineering, laser engineering, projection television and for scientific researches. The inventive linear liquid-crystal optical polariser comprises at least two optical elements made of transparent isotropic material and provided with parallel internal faces having working orienting surfaces and a layer of oriented liquid-crystal material arranged therebetween. Said liquid-crystal material is characterised in that the refraction factor thereof for an ordinary ray is less than the refraction factor for each optical element. The novelty of the invention lies in that the working orienting surfaces of the polarise are embodied in such a way that it is possible to produce thereon any predetermined homogenous orientation of the liquid-crystal material which makes it possible to obtain an angle between the optical axis of said liquid-crystal material disposed on the surface and said surface ranging from 0° to 90° on the condition that simultaneous obtainment of limit values of angles from said range on both surfaces is excluded, the optical axis of the liquid-crystal material on the working orienting surface of one optical element being not collinear with respect to the optical axis of the liquid-crystal material on the working orienting surface of the other optical element.</p>
