PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with flange back adjustment of a projection lens in an image projection unit and to moderate precision of structural parts of the unit. SOLUTION: The image projection unit has plural image display elements 8a to 8c for respectively modulating plural colored rays, a prism type element 5 for synthesizing the colored rays modulated by these plural image display elements and a projection lens 1 for projecting rays synthesized by the prism type element. In this image projection unit, an adjusting lens 2 which is movable in an optical axis direction in order to execute pint adjustment when positional adjustment of plural image display elements toward the prism type element is performed, is provided between the prism type element and the projection lens. |
