PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter device which can be stably fixed in a camera main body, by which an external stroboscopic device is stably attached to a compact camera or the like and which does not spoil the compact outside appearance of the camera when it is attached to the camera main body. SOLUTION: This adapter device for mounting the external stroboscopic device 20 to the camera main body 10 is equipped with attaching means (40 and 60) attaching the mount members (30 and 50) equipped with hot shoes (35 and 55) for mounting a stroboscopic device to the main body 10 in a state where any pair of two corresponding surfaces out of the front and back, the top and bottom and the right and left surfaces of the main body 10 is put in between.
