PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens cover device and a camera by which the possibilities of losing a lens cover and disturbing photographing by the lens cover are eliminated, whose structures are made simple and which are made small-sized and are inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a mounting frame 21 that is attached to the outer periphery of a photographic lens barrel 11 projectingly provided at the front face of a camera main body 10 and whose at least one end positioned on the side of the top end part of the lens barrel 11 is formed into a cylindrical part 21a provided with an aperture part OP capable of being coaxially surrounded, the lens cover 22 by which the aperture part OP is opened and closed and a lens cover opening/ closing mechanism 30 to perform the opening/closing operation of the cover 22, and the opening/closing mechanism 30 is provided with a link 31 by which one end is pivotally supported by one part of the mounting frame 21 so as to make main shaft parts 31a and 31b tunable within a plane in parallel with the optical axis OP of the lens barrel 11 and nearly the center part of the lens cover 22 is pivotally supported by a top end so as to be freely turnable and a slide-moving means 32 to slide the turnable lens cover 22 in a direction in parallel with the optical axis OP along the peripheral surface of the mounting frame 21 by setting a cover turn base end part 22b on a side near the camera main body 10.
