Coating has a porosity which maintains its value after applying an electrolyte and subsequently sintering. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the coating comprising inserting a pore former and/or joint stabilizer in the layer material. Preferred Features: The coating has an open porosity of 20-40% and an average pore size of 3-10 mu m. The pore former and/or joint stabilizer comprises organic additives in an amount of 5-50 wt.% or zirconium oxide in an amount of 5-80 wt.%.
