The apparatus for manufacturing a hose comprises a moving winding core (2) onto which individual material strips (10, 20) are fed via diverting and forming devices (12, 22) so that the long edges (20a, 20b) of each strip overlap to form layers (10', 20'). Feeding of the material strips to the core at the optimum angle is realised if the middle perpendicular of each flat outer surface of the winding core and the normals to each tangent on a curved surface of a winding core intersect at a common point.
