PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch system for a welding machine capable of conducting appropriately the welding work by disposing a switch capable of remote controlling on the hand shield side so as to enable the starting/ending operation of the welding work to be surely conducted in a state that a welding operator is in an appropriate posture for the welding work. SOLUTION: A switch part 2 is mounted on a hand shield 10, and a transmitter 3 for transmitting a signal by operation of the switch part 2 is disposed. And a receiver 4 is mounted on the arc welding machine 20 side to perform the circuit opening/closing switching by the receiver receiving the signal from the transmitter 3 in place of an action switch circuit 24 of the arc welding machine 20, thereby enabling the ON/OFF switching of the arc welding machine 20 by the remote control, which enables the switch operation on the hand shield 10 side, dispensing with the switch operation by the hand holding a torch 22 of the arc welding machine 20. And the shake of the torch 22 accompanying the switch operation does not occure, and any part of the torch 22 can be held so that the welding work can be conducted stably and appropriately.
