PURPOSE: An opening and shutting structure of a fuel cap is provided to easily open the fuel cap and at a driver's seat to check whether the fuel cap is mounted. CONSTITUTION: An opening and shutting structure of a fuel cap(20) comprises a permanent magnet(25) formed at the end of a fitting unit(24) formed on the inner side of a body of the fuel cap; housing spaces(34) formed outside through holes(32) formed on both sides of a fuel injection port(30) in which the permanent magnet is positioned when the fuel cap is fit into the fuel injection port; a filler door switch(50) deciding whether a filler door is mounted, with installed on the inner side of the filler door and a side of a side panel; an electromagnet(36) forming magnetic force by the current applied from a battery(54) when the filler door switch is on; and a sensor(38) deciding whether the fuel cap is mounted, with housed to the lower side of the housing spaces. Therefore, the fuel cap is easily opened and shut and also the loss of the fuel cap is prevented.
