<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating woody solid waste, whereby in wet oxidation in a treating method comprising solubilizing woody solid wastes by wet oxidation and microbially decomposing the solubilized wastes, the wastes can be microbially decomposed at good efficiency by effectively decomposing lignin, inhibiting the formation of substances being harmful to microbes and resulting from cellulose decomposition, and leaving microbially decomposable cellulose as much as possible. SOLUTION: In wet-oxidizing a slurry of woody solid wastes and water, the slurry before the wet oxidation is adjusted so that the pH of the treated product after the wet oxidation may be 6.0-8.0 and the slurry is partially decomposed under conditions in which the treatment temperature of the slurry is 170-190 deg.C, the pressure is one at which the slurry is kept in a liquid phase, and the treatment time is 30-60 min by feeding an oxygenous gas in an amount equivalent to an oxygen supply, per unit volume of the slurry, equivalent to 10-20% of the CODcr value of the slurry.</p> |
