PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the corrosion of a reel-attaching leg of a fishing reel. SOLUTION: The spinning reel is mounted on a reel seat RS installed in the fishing rod RD, and has a reel main body supporting a handle so as to be freely rotatable, a rotor and a spool. The reel main body has a reel body made of an aluminum alloy or a magnesium alloy of a light metal having corrosion resistance, and the reel-attaching leg 40 integrally formed with the reel body. A protective member 50 is attached to the face of the reel-attaching leg 40 facing to the fishing rod RD. The protective member 50 is a plate-shaped member made of a metal such as the aluminum alloy or a stainless steel, and is fixed to the reel-attaching leg 40 by screwing bolts 60. Both sides of the protective member 50 are fixed to the reel seat RS to attach the reel to the fishing rod RD.
