The invention relates to a device for producing a filter cable (1) that is treated with an additive and consists of cellulose acetate. Said device comprises an intake sleeve (16) and an intake funnel (15) which projects into the larger intake opening of said sleeve, whereas the filter cable (1) emerges from the smaller outlet opening of the intake sleeve (16) and an intake nozzle (14) which guides the filter cable (1) into the larger opening of the intake funnel (15). The invention is characterized in that an additive nozzle (20) is guided through the intake nozzle (14) and the intake funnel (15) following the run of the filter cable (1), opening into the intake sleeve (16) in order to dispense the additive in a discontinuous manner in the form of portions (28) into the filter cable (1).
