PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing split squid fries, capable of independently frying each peace of stick-like split squid almost without coalescing into one body and mass-producing with excellent producibility. SOLUTION: This method for producing split squid fry comprises forming string-like split squid pieces by tearing a dried squid body along muscular fiber, soaking the obtained into a batter liquid composed mainly of wheat and water, draining the liquid, covering the obtained with a powder containing >=50 wt.% pregelatinized starch, vibrating the obtained on a sheave to produce independent peaces of split squid for fry and covered with the powder and putting the obtained into heated oil to fry. The split squid fry 1 is independent from other pieces almost without coalescing into one body. |
