A catalyst comprises at least 2 elements from scandium, yttrium, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, rhenium, iron, cobalt, nickel, tin, lead, antimony, bismuth and selenium on a carrier with a BET surface area below 200 m2/g. An Independent claim is also included for hydrocarbon epoxidation with oxygen, air, nitrogen oxides or other oxidizers in presence of the above catalyst.
