PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processed food of algae suitable as a relish or a topping for dishes and a method for producing the processed food. SOLUTION: A sesame oil is added to a loose dried laver (spontaneous purple laver) as a raw material 20 and the resultant mixture is stirred. The stirred mixture is then charged into the interior of a rotating drum 15 of an apparatus 10, stirred under heating for 3 min while exposing the mixture to hot air at 180 deg.C, then taken out and smeared with common salt. Thereby, the charged laver is thermally deformed to produce a crispy feeling. As a result, the processed food of the laver having taste and flavor, an excellent taste and texture can be produced. |
