METHOD FOR SCREENING HIGHLY AMMONIA-OXIDIZING BACTERIA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide highly ammonia-oxidizing bacteria. SOLUTION: The objective method for screening the highly ammonia-oxidizing bacteria comprises collecting at least one kind of microorganisms from a filter bed tank in an effluent treatment process equipped with a bioreactor using humic soil pellets, culturing the microorganisms and then subjecting the microorganisms to screening with the presence/absence of nitrous acid formation as indicator.
