The airbag comprises a force distribution plate (24), for the impact of a passenger on the air bag, a sleeve (46) having a closed transverse section and breakable plate fixings (38) to the support. The sleeve is fixed on the force distribution plate along one end (52) by fixings so that the interior volume of the airbag is delimited by the sleeve and by the plate.
