Cap for button cell - of nickel or nickel-coated steel coated with zinc

Metal cap for a sealed button cell in which that part of the cap in contact with the negative active material (amalgamated powdered zinc) is coated with a thin layer of zinc, pref. deposited chemically from an alkaline zincate soln. The cap is of nickel coated steel. The zinc layer on nickel prevents gassing and is not subject to failure by amalgamation.
