PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build a desk with a side cabinet in a solid structure and to make the desk with a pedestal cabinet user-friendly. SOLUTION: A back frame 12 extending along the back part of a top plate, a side frame 16 extending along a side edge of the top plate 2, and a joint 5 connecting the both frames 12, 16 are placed between the top plate and the side cabinet 2. The back frame 12, the side frame 16, and the side cabinet 2 are positioned by a spacer block 48, and the both frames 12, 16, the spacer block 48, and the side cabinet 2 are secured integrally by screws. Since a leg supporting one side of the top plate is connected to the back frame 12, the desk has a solid structure as a whole. The top drawer can be used without troubles because of a space between the side cabinet 2 and the top plate.
