1312362 Selective printing TRIUMPH WERKE NURNBERG AG 25 Nov 1970 [27 Dec 1969] 56051/70 Heading B6F Mechanical combination selection device; interlocks between keys and between interposers.-A continuously rotating filter shaft 21 co-operates with a selected interposer 14 to tilt the coding bails 19 and also tilt a locking rail 24 against the bias of a bi-stable spring 26 so that it abuts a stop 28. In this position of the locking rail 24 (Fig. 2), the next selected interposer 14 is not allowed to tilt so that its dog 20 cannot engage the filter shaft, due to the rail 24 engaging a nose piece 23. However, when the previous cycle is completed, a solenoid 29 is energized to tilt the locking rail 24 back against stop 27, so that the next selected interposer is allowed to tilt and cooperate with the filter shaft 21. Actuation of a key lever 1 causes a finger 6 to bear downwardly on a release lever 5. In consequence lever 5 pivots about rod 8 so that a nose-piece 11 penetrates two adjacent elements of a locking means 12 to prevent actuation of another key lever. Pivoting of a release lever 5 causes its lug 13 to slide from the rear end 14a of an interposer 14, thereby allowing the interposer to pivot about rod 16 under the influence of a spring 17. Subsequent longitudinal motion of the selected interposer 14 causes its release lever 5 (which now abuts the end of the interposer, Fig. 2) to move upwardly due to the fact that the pivot rod 8 engages in an elongate hole 7 arranged obliquely. This releases the lever 5 from the locking means 12, so that the next key lever can be actuated. However, the interposer 14 selected by such key lever actuation will not pivot until the locking rail 24 is returned to stop 27, as described above. |
