A bearing journal arrangement for a bicycle comprises a lower race member 50 having at least one outwardly extending stop portions 32/52, an upper race member 30 having a neck portion 33, an outwardly extending skirt portion 31 and an inwardly extending protrusion 32, and a bearing arrangement 40 positioned between the two race members 30, 50 and whereby the stops 32/52 of the lower member 50 are enclosed by the skin 31 of the upper member 30 and on to the neck 33 of which, a locking nut 20 is mounted. Steering tube/handle bar 10 extends through the bearing journal arrangement so as to attached to head tube 60 via threaded steering tube 61 and provides a system so that when the handlebar stem is rotated 180 degrees, the upper race 30 rotates in unison with the steering tube 10 and is prevented from any further rotation by contact between the protrusion 32 and one of the stops 32/52. |
