PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe equipped with an ultrasonic transducer hardly causing deterioration of characteristic even in contact with a sterilizing gas (particularly, ethylene oxide gas). SOLUTION: This ultrasonic probe comprises the ultrasonic transducer comprising a piezoelectric oscillator having electrodes on upper and lower faces, a sound absorbing material stuck to one electrode surface of the piezoelectric oscillator through an adhesive, and an acoustic matching layer stuck to the other electrode surface of the piezoelectric oscillator through an adhesive, the acoustic matching layer and piezoelectric oscillator being covered with a protective layer formed of an ethylene oxide gas low transmittable resin; and a silicon resin-made acoustic lens stuck to a position corresponding to above the acoustic matching layer of the ultrasonic transducer.
