PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sampling at least one kind of biological fluid constituent and measuring an intended constituent of at least one kind in the biological fluid. SOLUTION: This device is provided with at least one micro-needle having an opening distal end for use in penetrating the skin to a designated depth, thereby, pain and bleeding are minimized. The device is provided with an electrochemical cell for measuring the concentration of a targeted constituent in each constituent of hydrophilic gel in the micro-needle for sampling the respective constituents in the biological fluid and the sampled biological fluid. In a specified embodiment, the electrochemical cell is integrated with the micro-needle, whereby the respective steps of sampling and measurement are performed completely in-situ. In another embodiment, the electrochemical cell is disposed at its proximal end part in the outside of the micro-needle. Systems, method and a kit for component sampling and measurement are provided. |
