A nasal delivery device for and a method of delivering substance to a nasal cavity of a subject, the delivery device comprising: a nozzle through which substance is in use delivered to the nasal cavity; and a delivery unit for delivering substance through the nozzle. The devices may include a cuff for insertion in the nose. The cuff may inflate in response to the exhalation of the user and produce a fluid tight seal in the nasal cavity. The cuff may have a particular size and shape in order direct a medicament to a particular part of the nasal canal such as the olfactory region in order to by-pass the blood brain barrier. The medicament release may be timed to coincide or follow the release of a separate gas flow intended to entrain the medicament. The devices may be provided with a mouthpiece such that medicament release is timed to coincide with exhalation which has the effect of closing the oropharyngeal velum. |
