Detecting movement by calculating difference image and filtering to straighten detected object edges

Method consists in recording an image of the monitored area, calculating a difference image between it and a previously recorded image and identifying an object appearing in the difference image to determine whether movement has been detected. A high pass filter passing frequencies peculiar to a direction filters the difference image to straighten the edges of the object in that direction.
