Method and apparatus for 3D depth migration

A method for imaging seismic data and eliminating noise and error in the resulting image is disclosed. In this method seismic data that has undergone downward extrapolation is corrected by applying Li-correction at regular depth intervals. The Li-correction is applied using Phase Shift Plus Interpolation Techniques. In a preferred embodiment tapering is applied during the Li-correction to further eliminate noise associated with large dips.
