PURPOSE: A data input device is provided to put liquid in a semispherical body whose bottom plate is patterned with images, to change the images by self rotation, and to measure an image change quantity so that a user can input data by laying a hand on the device and rotating it. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a semispherical body(21), a bottom plate(22), a liquid surface(23), a lens(11), an image sensor(12) and a lamp(30). An image change occurs by a self rotation. The bottom plate(22) is patterned with images like latticed patterns, and attached at a bottom of the semispherical body(21). Transparent liquid is put into the semispherical body, not to the full. And clear air is filled with an upper part of the semispherical body(21) for making a flat liquid surface to prevent the images of the bottom plate from being enlarged. The part of the semispherical body(21) in contact with the liquid plays a role of a lens so that the ring part around the flat liquid surface enlarges the images of the bottom plate(22). The lens(11) and the image sensor(12) measure the image change, and transmit the measured data to a signal processor for calculating a quantity of the image change. |
