PURPOSE: A process of preparing a cosmetic by adding a suitable amount of a preservative-treated coffee extract or powder to conventional cosmetic material during the manufacture of a cosmetic is provided. Whereby, the product is improved in inhibition of acne and skin protection function by a tannin component while providing good aroma. CONSTITUTION: In the process of preparing a cosmetic such as a skin lotion, emulsion, cream, essence, pack or the like, a suitable amount of a coffee extract or coffee fine powder is added to conventional cosmetic material such as wax, fatty acid, fatty alcohol, glycerin, humectant, surfactant, preservative, flavorings or the like. About 1.3% by weight of caffeine contained in coffee enhances a sebum decomposing effect and about 8% by weight of tannin contained therein also protects the skin by inhibition of acne.
