A method for the production of a particle-containing preparation of tetrahyd ro- 3,5-dimethyl-1,3,5-thiadiazin-2-thione, by combination of a first aqueous solution containing methylammonium-N-methyldithiocarbamate with a second solution containing formaldehyde and separation and drying of the solid form ed is disclosed. The invention is characterised in that the first and second solutions are combined such that over the duration of the reaction the ratio of the concentration of dithiocarbamate functions and formaldehyde in the reaction mixture remains essentially constant over time.
