PURPOSE: To provide an image forming apparatus including a hardware configuration capable of high-speed image processing when a CPU whose interface is not open to public is used for a controller of the image forming apparatus. CONSTITUTION: In the case that the interface of a CPU 102 is not open to public, an NB (North Bridge) 103 and an ASIC (Application Specific IC) 108 being a part of a chip set are connected by using an AGP (Accelerated Graphic Port) 106 being an exclusive port for graphic display so as to apply switching control to image data sent/received between the chip set of the CPU 102 and an engine section 110.
