PURPOSE: An electronic steering wheel for disabled persons and a control method thereof are provided to execute the acceleration and deceleration functions of a vehicle by operating a steering operation mechanism back and forth. CONSTITUTION: An electronic steering wheel for disabled persons is composed of a steering operation mechanism, a position sensor(100) for the steering operation mechanism detecting and outputting the position of the steering operation mechanism, an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,300) outputting deceleration or acceleration signals by signals outputted from the position sensor, a brake actuator(500) worked to decelerate a vehicle when electronically outputted signals correspond to deceleration signals, and a suction valve actuator(600) worked to accelerate the vehicle when the outputted signals correspond to acceleration signals.
