FIELD: machine tool manufacture, possibly working end surfaces of discs. SUBSTANCE: machine tool includes housing, spindle of article and rest mounted in housing. Rest includes two portions mutually joined by means of cross-like spring suspension with use of mechanism for changing mutual position of said portions. Machine tool is provided with optical laser system having diverging lens and condenser, irradiators arranged in each portion of rest and connected with optical system by means of flexible lightguide separated by two hoses and mounted with possibility of engaging by its end with condenser. Machine tool also includes pickups controlling position of irradiators, mounted just near irradiators and designed for tuning irradiators relative to worked surface. Flexible lightguide has non-oriented arrangement of fibres. Irradiators have slit outlet nozzles for supplying shield gas. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, improved quality of polishing. 2 cl, 5 dwg
