FIELD: welding, possibly in different branches of machine engineering at welding processes in equipment providing impulse feed of welding wire to zone of electric arc burning. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of signal output to system for controlling mechanism of impulse feed of welding wire provided with control signal source in automatic mode; realizing adaptive control system; using welding arc voltage pickup as control signal source; providing impulse feed of welding wire at time moment of forming melt metal drop whose size is controlled by length value of welding arc; setting repetition frequency of impulse feed of welding wire according to its melting rate. EFFECT: possibility for controlling size of melt metal drops and time moment of their transfer to welding bath. 3 dwg
