PURPOSE:To reduce a power consumption by sharply shortening a time required for energizing a stepping motor in order to hold a diaphragm value, and to reduce a time lag. CONSTITUTION:The air image of an object transmitted through a photographing lens 20 and image-formed on a primary image-forming face 36 is image-formed again on an image pickup element 39 by a relay optical system 37. Then, a movable diaphragm 40 is provided on an optical path between the primary image forming face 36 and the image pickup element 39. Then, when a quick return mirror 21 is down, a light flux transmitted through the photographing lens 20 can be made incident to a photometric element 27 or a finder system regardless of the movable diaphragm 40, the movable diaphragm 40 is controlled from an initial stop value to a control stop value calculated at the time of the photometric operation by a controller 41, and the initial diaphragm value of the movable diaphragm 40 is set an intermediate value between the opening state of the movable diaphragm and the minimum diaphragm state. And also, at the time of a successive photographing, the movable diaphragm 40 is directly driven to the new control stop value at the time of the end of the photographing. |
