FIELD: metal working, possibly making shapes in simple-action extrusion presses from aluminium alloy billet according to process "billet after billet". SUBSTANCE: tool for extruding shapes includes heated container, shaped chamber die, plunger and buildup pressure pad. The last is secured to plunger by means of brace with possibility of free displacement of pressure pad relative to plunger. On front end of brace there is protrusion whose dimensions are equal to those of reciprocal central opening of pressure pad. EFFECT: improved design of tool allowing to decrease loads for readjusting tool in order to extrude shape from next billet due to preliminary depressurization of working zone of container before moving pressure pad out of it. 2 dwg
