PURPOSE: To provide a method for forming a recording position adjusting pattern, a method for adjusting image recording position and an image recorder in which recording position can be corrected accurately. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of blocks each including a specified number of corrected K color parallel bars are printed (180, 188) and color parallel bars are printed (182, 190) between the K color parallel bars while tilting by a different amount from block to block. Density of the printed parallel bars is then detected by an optical detecting means and blocks of highest density are determined (184, 192). Color tilt correction is performed (186, 194) by setting the amount of tilt of the detected block as the amount of tilt of color. Similarly, tilt correction is performed for respective colors.
