PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find the optimum silane coupling treatment conditions for magnesium hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide used as a non-halogen type flame- retardant for a resin composition flame-retarded with a non-halogen. SOLUTION: As the silane coupling agent there is selected a vinylalkoxysilane such as vinyltriethoxysilane, vinyltrimethoxysilane, vinyltris(β-methoxyethoxy) silane, γ-methacryloyloxypropyl trimethoxysilane, and the amount attached of the vinylalkoxysilane is chosen as 0.1-1 wt.% in terms of a converted value to silicon. As the olefin-based polymer for which this treated material is incorporated, an ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer and an ethylene-ethylacrylate copolymer are desirable. |
