PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulator type circuit breaker in which the potential distribution of a support part unit of the circuit breaker is improved, resulting in the improved insulation performance. SOLUTION: The insulator type circuit breaker comprises an arc-extinguishing chamber unit 2 in which fixed/movable contact pieces are disposed inside an arc-extinguishing chamber porcelain-tube, and a support part unit 8 which supports the arc-extinguishing chamber unit for earth-insulation with a support porcelain tube 8a while an insulation operation rod 3 which connects the movable contact piece to an operation device is disposed inside the support porcelain tube. A low-resistivity material 12a is so disposed in the support part unit 8 that the voltage-applied side is low resistance while the ground side is high resistance.
