<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly dispose an air intake system in a cylinder bank. SOLUTION: There are disposed on a bottom portion of a surge tank a first air intake passage 38-1 connected to a first cylinder bank and a second air intake passage 38-2, connected to a second cylinder bank 8-2 in a cylinder row direction. A first branch passage 40-1 that branches off a middle portion of the first air intake passage and a second branch passage 40-2 that branches off a middle portion of the second air intake passage are connected, respectively, to a bottom surface of the surge tank. The center line of a first branch passage and that of a center line of a second branch passage are tilted, respectively, toward a central axis of the cylinder bank of a V-type engine. The two center lines cross at a position inside the surge tank. A rotary shaft 44 of an open/close valve mechanism 42 that opens or closes the first and second branch passages is provided through the crossing portion.</p> |
