PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output system or the like that can easily select a desired image from a list of stored images when a Web browser on a host device browses the stored image received by an image output device and even when many images are stored in the image output device. SOLUTION: The image output device creates a list of reduced pictures of image files stored therein as HTML documents and transmits the documents to the host device in compliance with the HTTP protocol, and the host device uses the Web browser to display the list of the stored images received from the image output device by means of thumbnail indication of the reduced pictures.
